I did it! Four years and two thousand beers later, I drank my way into my 100th brewery in Washington state. Having been open three months, Obec Brewing (Pronounced oh-betz) is brand new and full of promise. Located within stumbling distance of neighboring Stoup Brewing, Obec is in the heart of the unofficial Ballard beer district. A night of birthday brewery crawling with friends led me through the doors of Obec.

Sometimes a place makes you fall in love with a beer style all over again. Propolis Brewing was the 94th visit on my bucket list of Washington breweries. Known for their saison /farmhouse ales, Propolis uses local herbs and botanicals to produce their seasonally based, wild-crafted ales. I arrived at the brewery with low expectations and walked out a fan. My fandom even included a purchase of five 750 mL bottles of their barrel-aged ales.
